TorinCraft / Battery operations

Battery status and capacity,
visible from afar.

BMS brings distributed battery sites into one operational view. With compatible field equipment, teams can monitor status, run remote discharge capacity tests, and review alerts and reports.

01 / Architecture

From field equipment to a browser view.

At each site, monitoring and capacity-testing equipment collects battery readings and controls a discharge test. SNMP and IEC 61850 can carry device data into a central platform. Operators use a browser to review sites, devices, tests, alarms, and reports.

The software sits between field devices and the operations team. Hardware compatibility, protocol versions, network path, and control permissions must be confirmed for each installation.

Battery groups and site sensors connect to on-site test equipment; SNMP or IEC 61850 links it to a central BMS platform used in a browser
Illustrative architecture. Actual connections depend on the site.

02 / Topology

One platform, many sites.

Group equipment by region and site so each team can work within its area of responsibility.

Each site can contain battery groups and monitoring or capacity-test devices. The dashboard groups normal, alarm, offline, and active-test states.

During a capacity test, compatible equipment controls discharge and records voltage and current over time. The platform tracks the process and prepares the capacity assessment. The electrical path must be reviewed for each site.

03 / Functional map

The system's working parts.

Five areas bring the work together: setup, monitoring, remote operations, reporting, and platform administration. Individual functions depend on connected devices and deployment.

A / SETUP

Sites and equipment

  • Organize regions, sites, devices, and battery-group records
  • Configure device parameters and access permissions
  • Maintain equipment and connection information
B / MONITOR

Status and alarms

  • Estate dashboard and device status
  • Group voltage, current, cell voltage, resistance, and temperature where available
  • Trends, wiring context, and alarm review
C / OPERATE

Remote tests

  • Plan or initiate discharge capacity tests on compatible equipment
  • Watch test progress and stop a run remotely where supported
  • Other device-specific tests, including resistance or K/D, where configured
D / REVIEW

Reports and records

  • Capacity assessment and discharge curves
  • Test reports and data export
  • Alarm and operation history for follow-up
E / PLATFORM

Administration

  • Role-based visibility across sites
  • Device connection checks and software updates
  • Deployment-specific resilience options

04 / Operating flow

Monitor, test, and document.

A typical operating path runs from a fleet view to a single device, then through a controlled test and its recorded result.

  1. 01 / Observe

    See the estate

Review normal, alarm, offline, and test-in-progress states across sites.

  2. 02 / Inspect

    Open a device

Check group and cell readings, trends, and the site's battery context.

  3. 03 / Test

    Run capacity work

Schedule or initiate a discharge through compatible equipment and monitor the process.

  4. 04 / Review

    Keep the evidence

Use curves, capacity results, alerts, and operation records for maintenance decisions.

05 / Use cases

For distributed battery operations.

The same platform pattern can support several site types. Device compatibility and site procedures determine the final scope.

01 / POWER

Substations and DC systems

Group station batteries by operating region, watch readings centrally, plan capacity checks, and retain test reports for maintenance review.

02 / TELECOM

Equipment rooms and base stations

Bring dispersed batteries into one status view so teams can identify alarms, prioritize site work, and coordinate planned discharge tests.

03 / DATA CENTERS

Critical backup power

Review battery condition and capacity-test history with traceable curves and reports alongside existing maintenance procedures.
